The Potato Lab playfully addresses the disconnection and (re)connection to Europe. Students from two schools and nearly ten countries developed 3 to 5 questions emerging from five different topics highly relevant to their generation: food, identity, borders, solidarity, and challenges for Europe. These questions were sent to a vast and diverse community across Europe, and responses were received through video or as specific actions.

At the Grand Palais Ephemere, a nearly empty scaffolding structure was organized around an interactive laboratory inviting visitors to engage and reflect on these questions. Through their diverse creations, participants became part of the installation: united, they created a shared European sculpture. By arranging videos, research models, posters, and objects around the scaffold structure, a manifesto-work came to life to provoke self-reflection, discussions, new connections, and to change the perspective of what it means to be European. The project explored its connections with citizens across Europe before, during, and after EuroFabrique.
